ABSOLUT SCROOGE is the new, unique Christmas ad for 1998 from Absolut.
It's featured on the back covers of the 12/98 issues of Marie Claire (US) & Spin mags.
This 1998 Steve Bronstein photo shows a "gift" bottle of Absolut Vodka with a Christmas gift tag attached to the neck. The bottle is presented in the traditional white spotlight against a black backdrop. However, the bottle is a small 50ml bottle. Hence, the reference to Scrooge, the main character in A Christmas Carol, the famous novel by Charles Dickens: the Absolut gift giver was a Scrooge to give such a small bottle! The ad is unique because this is the first time that a small bottle has been used in an Absolut ad.
